Sofia, The Dream of Love

"You look so sad."

Sofia didn't play with her friends anymore. She didn't laugh all day. She didn't want to meet anybody. She was sitting on her bed alone. The day would end. She was there since morning. Her mom came over her and sat beside her. She was thinking about her daughter. She knew her feeling. She experienced it 19 years ago when she was 16. Their family and relatives were very happy. It must be a very happy moment for Sofia. Some old women were missing that moment.

"You will begin your new life."

Her tears drop on her cheek. Her mom wiped it. She didn't say any words as though this life was too hard for her now. She felt like her breath would end soon. She was wondering why was no right for women to choose their future. But, she knew that she would never found the answer. It was the culture that belonged to her family and all people around. All people must follow tradition.

Before morning came, Sofia got up and looked at the waving leaves out there through the window. She saw the moonlight, the falling leaves, the singing insects. She couldn't and didn't want to follow the tradition. She believed that she has the right to choose her future. "I own my life," she said to the falling leaves. She jumped out through the window and ran away.

"Sofia...!! Sofia...!! Sofia...!!"

Her mom knocked on the door of her room, but no response. Her father was getting angry and hit the door. They saw nobody inside. "Sofiaaaaa......!!" Both rushing around shouting calling Sofia. Their neighbors searched for her too. But, None found her. Her father was very angry. She would embarrass her father for running away from the wedding.

"I wanna kill her...!!" her father declared.

Her mom was so sad, her lovely daughter would face a big problem. She was in trouble now. But, She thought it might be better for her. She knew how painful it was to be forced to marry a man without love. She knew Sofia was closed to a young man. Both loved each other. Her husband didn't know anything about it. In her very deep heart, she wished her daughter found her own future out there.

Sofia's faher came to Ki Warangsong, the master magic man. "Could you show me where she is now?"

Ki Warangsong was smiling. "Calm down. Take a deep breath. Everything would be okay." Then she took a glass of water and looked inside the water. After a couople of minutes, "There something very powerful covers her," he said. "I could see nothing."

"What?!"

All people knew his magical power. None was more powerful than him. But, what was wrong with his maical power? Sofia's father was getting more angry. Three days later Mr Kuntano would come for the wedding. But, the bride ran away and none could find her.
